Each year Audubon's Kern River Preserve holds a festival at the end of September celebrating the phenomenon of migration. From 1994 through 2006, Turkey Vultures migrating through the Kern River Valley were counted by Terri Gallion and hundreds of volunteers through the Southern Sierra Research Station. The official count has ended but now we can find out what the rest of you are seeing and continue to celebrate the wonderful world of vultures as they migrate through our valley.
